The Outreach Appeal

Truth Spoken in Love

“Love covereth a multitude of sins.”— 1 Peter 4:8

I am not sharing this message to condemn you. I am sharing it because I care about your soul, and because sometimes love requires us to speak the truth.

But love does not mean that we ignore sin, justify destructive behavior, or pretend that everything is okay.

“If any man serve me, let him follow me.”— John 12:26

There is a road that God calls us to walk—the highway of holiness.

“And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness.”— Isaiah 35:8
“Be ye holy; for I am holy.”— 1 Peter 1:16
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”— Matthew 16:24

What kind of fruit is this producing?

Are you deceiving yourself about a pattern of behavior that God has been trying to bring to your attention?

If you have made it a habit to judge people unrighteously, remember:

“Judge not, that ye be not judged.”— Matthew 7:1

If you continually allow unwholesome communication, gossip, tearing people down, or corrupt words to come out of your mouth:

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying.”— Ephesians 4:29

Proverbs warns about things God hates, including pride, lying, wicked intentions, false witness, and sowing discord.

Proverbs 6:16–19Six things the Lord hates are described in this passage.
It is time to get wisdom and understanding.
Don't deceive yourself out of the blessings and benefits God has for you.

Nothing Is Hidden From God

“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing.”— Ecclesiastes 12:14

Nothing is hidden from the eyes of God.

“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”— Amos 3:7

Take a Righteous Step Toward Healing

This is not about me being better than you. This is about all of us examining ourselves before God.

If you know that some of these behaviors have been a pattern since childhood, don't simply accept them as “that's just who I am.”

There may be wounds that need healing. There may be patterns that need to be broken. You may need wisdom, accountability, prayer, deliverance, and restoration.

“The Lord is... not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”— 2 Peter 3:9

There is still an opportunity to turn around. There is still an opportunity to repent. There is still an opportunity to heal.
